Hospiscare’s massive new warehouse store, filled with furniture, household goods and retro finds will be opened by the Mayor of Honiton on Tuesday 21 June at 10.30am.

The local charity, which last year opened the £1.2m Kings House Day Hospice in the town, are now opening the Dowell Street warehouse shop to help fund the day hospice, where support is provided for local people with a terminal illness.

Helen Hutter, Hospiscare head of retail, said: “Come and see us on opening day and explore our Aladdin’s cave with pretty much everything for sale, including vintage, vinyl and bargain clothing. We look forward to meeting you, and hope you will support us by volunteering, donating and buying goods!”
The new store is situated on the lower ground floor below Whittons Auctioneers, and will be a variation of the charity’s successful warehouse store on Marsh Barton in Exeter, with high and low end goods for sale.

“It has been a massive team effort from staff and volunteers to get this new venture ready to open. We are all very excited, it is going to be such a great boost to support our services for local families.”

“We are thrilled and so grateful for the amazing level of support the local community and businesses have given to us already for Kings House and this new store will help ensure the centre is there to give care to local families in the future.”
Hospiscare’s shop in the High Street will still be the place for quality clothing and accessories, whilst the warehouse will take your larger pieces of furniture, and can arrange collections and deliveries.

The charity have recruited 3 new members of staff, and already have some of the volunteers they need, but are looking for more. Volunteers can help by operating the till, sorting donations, PAT testing, arranging displays, cleaning furniture, stocking the shelves, and much more.
