WESC hosts Exeter Chamber's summer networking lunch
WESC Foundation (WESC) played host to Exeter Chamber of Commerce’s June networking lunch, with 70 local businesses and professionals in attendance.
WESC is a school and college for young people and adults aged 5-25, and a specialist centre for visual impairment, based on Topsham Road, Exeter. Pre-lunch, guests were offered an optional tour of the facilities at the 14-acre campus to meet learners; find out more about the charity and the important work and services they provide.
Following a buffet lunch prepared by the WESC in-house catering team, a presentation was given by WESC Ambassador Chris Lorimer. He spoke about how WESC Foundation has excellent links with a number of external providers, giving learners an opportunity to gain work experience in the local business community. This was followed by a presentation by Jon Duckham - Fundraising Manager, WESC, on how Exeter Chamber members can get involved with the charity to raise much needed funds.
Derek Phillips, Vice President of Exeter Chamber of Commerce said: “It was a real pleasure to host the Chamber networking lunch at WESC Foundation this month. Hearing about the fantastic work they do at the centre was a real inspiration and we would encourage Exeter businesses to get involved with WESC.”
