Hydraulics company on the move despite Brexit

The UK has become a hotbed of uncertainty over the last month since the majority of the public voted to leave the European Union.

Multiple questions are flying around from all avenues of UK life which are all trying to ascertain how this big political decision will affect everyone’s day to day business and personal lives.

Unfazed by the current political climate are Hydraulics & Pneumatics company Derek Lane & Co who are on the move to a bigger and better building; leaving their Exeter home of over 35 years in favour of a better suited premises a few miles along the A38 in Newton Abbot, the company feels this is the right move regardless of the current circumstances.

"Our aim has always been to put the customer first” says Sales Director Rob Woodley.

“We cannot look backwards and must endeavour to move forward; the economic climate is uncertain of course and we should be cautious… to give a better quality service to our customers however, we need to invest.”

Since Rob, alongside Operations Director Mark Venn and Beaumanor Engineering, acquired the business in 2012, there has been a distinct focus in contemporising the 3 decade old business’ strategy with considerable and perpetual investment into new ideas, training and staff. The move to Newton Abbot serves as tangible testament to the new management’s resolve.

“In the grand scheme of things we’re only moving a few miles up the road and for our longstanding and valuable customers in Exeter, we will still very much be serving the local area whilst forging some new and long term customers in the Newton Abbot and South Devon area. We hope our new location will prove beneficial for our customers and staff for many more years to come.”
