Devon accountants expand payroll and bookkeeping teams
Expanding Devon chartered accountants and business advisers, Thompson Jenner LLP, are pleased to announce the integration into the firm of the Exmouth based and well respected Payroll, Bookkeeping and Sage Training company Partners in Payroll Ltd.
Partners in Payroll Ltd founder, Julie Brown and her experienced team of payroll and bookkeeping professionals transferred over to Thompson Jenner LLP in September 2016 and now work at the firms Exmouth office at Alexandra Terrace.
Julie launched Partners in Payroll Ltd in 2004 and has steadily grown the firm, progressing from initially working from home to having offices in Littleham, Exmouth and then on Rolle Street in Exmouth town centre employing six members of staff.
“Partners in Payroll Ltd are an extremely well established payroll and bookkeeping provider in Exmouth, which has a solid reputation for serving both sole traders and small businesses clients,” said Exmouth Partner Simon Lewis. “The fit is an extremely good one for us and will see our overall payroll and bookkeeping team expand to over twenty qualified staff.”
He went on to say, “We are delighted to welcome Julie and her team to Thompson Jenner LLP, which means that Partners in Payroll Ltd.’s existing clients will see continuity in the service and support they receive. This will now be backed by access to a wider range of services and expertise which as chartered accountants, tax and business advisers we are able to offer clients if required.”
Julie added, “I and the rest of the team are delighted to become part of Thompson Jenner LLP and work out of the firms Exmouth office”.
She went on to say “I am proud to be able to say that I started my professional career with Thompson Jenner LLP in 1993 and since founding Partners in Payroll Ltd in 2004 I have retained a professional relationship with the firm’s Partners and Management team. I am therefore delighted to be returning to employment with the firm”.
Managing Partner Neil Curtis commented, “Our reputation as a firm is spreading across Devon and we continue to grow by offering a high level of reliability, flexibility, client care and support from a truly local team of professionals. This move brings a very respected name in payroll and bookkeeping into Thompson Jenner LLP, whilst retaining the people and client service which all of our clients value”
He added, “Julie and her team will complement our existing team of highly qualified and committed professionals. We take great pride in our outsourcing team and have invested in their training, development and growth in areas such as payroll legislation and auto-enrolment to meet the workplace pension’s requirements.
Simon Lewis concluded, "We are seeing increasing demand for our outsourcing services with ever greater numbers of small businesses deciding to outsource their payroll and bookkeeping responsibilities. Businesses are looking for an experienced provider which offers a personal and efficient service and our expanding capability meets that need exactly”.
"Small businesses are feeling the pressure of not just having to understand and comply with new legislation surrounding payroll and auto-enrolment pensions, but also the penalties if they get it wrong. Put this entire administrative burden together and you can understand why outsourcing is becoming such an attractive solution," he added.
