Exeter Chamber raises £1,600 for charities at networking lunch
Exeter Chamber of Commerce raised a total of £1675 for 11 local charities at this year’s Christmas charity auction lunch. Held at the Mercure Southgate Hotel, the event attracted over 100 Exeter business people giving them the opportunity for some festive networking and to bid for some fantastic prizes. The auctioneer for the charitable event was Ben Clark, Breakfast presenter on Radio Exe.
Items for auction included vouchers for Exeter Cookery School, a set of hand-made prints from Double Elephant, an Exeter Chiefs shirt signed by the team, a round of golf at Woodbury Park and the opportunity for two people to meet and feed the penguins at Living Coasts.
Derek Phillips, vice president of Exeter Chamber Commerce said: “The annual Christmas networking lunch was a great success. It’s fantastic to be able to give something back to our charity members. We are immensely grateful for all the support our members give throughout the year and I am delighted to say that we have raised an outstanding amount of money.
This is the fourth year that Exeter Chamber has held a Christmas Charity auction at their December lunch and was the last Chamber event of 2016.
The next Chamber lunch will be held at the Mercure Southgate Hotel on Wednesday 18th January 2017. For those wishing to attend this lunch, please contact the Chamber office on 01392 4331133.
