Hundreds protest in Karannah, Bahrain, ahead of general strike
Hundreds of people protested in Karannah, a northern district of the Kingdom of Bahrain, on Monday in preparation for what has been dubbed the 'dignity protest' due to take place on February 14th.
Men, women and children have marched through the streets carrying flags and banners in protest against the regime.
With regards to the upcoming strike, activists have explained that:
"The forthcoming dignity strike on February 14th is a strike for one day only, and is an introduction to the steps to be taken in the path of civil disobedience which will be painful to the regime, and here we emphasis that the general strike by business and schools and universities not equivalent in the balance of one drop of sacrifice blood of the of our martyrs, we must not allow ourselves to hesitate, and here we call for all shades of people and live forces to participate in advocacy for this important step in the course of the glorious revolution." According to Maryam Al-Khawaja, tear gas has been used to disperse the peaceful protest. (NewsPoint)
