Silverton villagers braced for space ant war
Villagers in Silverton are bracing themselves for the onslaught of an intergalactic battle between giant ants and evil lizards, aided by a dalek of course, as space wars come to mid Devon.
The terrifying creatures will land in the Exe Valley this February in a brand new space-age community musical.
The interstellar Ants in Space! bursts on stage at Silverton Community Hall from February 21 – 23 2013 featuring four live, action-packed, shows.
Tickets, priced £5 for adults and £2 for under 16s, are available from Silverton’s Post Office or from Trudi Bird on 01392 861082.
The Silverton Luvvies drama group has written the original work themselves and set the space war story to popular songs played by their semi-professional band.
Director Portia Smith said: “This is fantastic community theatre, from the actors to the band to the backstage crew. It is a real team effort.
“We have written an original script with a range of colourful characters, from cunning space ants, terrifying lizards and a useless dalek. It promises to be great fun, clever and wonderful value for money.”
Doors and a bar open 30 minutes before each performance and there is also an interval. A bar and disco will also feature on the Friday and Saturday nights.
Performances are at 7.30pm on February 21 - 23 and at 2.30pm for a Saturday matinee.
A special ticket at £12 for two adults and up to three children is available for the Thursday and Saturday matinee performances.
Don’t miss it!
