New operations director appointed at Stagecoach SW
Stagecoach South West announced today that it has appointed an Operations Director to join its senior management team. Paul Clark, currently General Manager at Stagecoach in Hull, is due to start with the operator on 2 May.
The appointment comes after the regional operator has undergone several years of significant network growth including a greatly enhanced network in North Devon, the purchase of assets from First in Plymouth and the launch of the South West Falcon inter-regional coach service.
Joining Stagecoach in 2005, Paul has two decades of experience across the bus industry having held operations roles in Bedford, Dover and Thanet. He then spent time in Dubai consulting on bus operations, Dundee managing the local National Express services and in Hong Kong. Here, he gained invaluable experience working for the largest private bus company in the world – Kowloon Motor Bus – which has a fleet of 4,000 vehicles and carries 2.5 million passengers every day.
Paul’s current role in Hull means he has day to day responsibility for 300 staff and129 vehicles. He has overseen the re-launch of the Hull network under the “Simplibus” brand and implemented significant improvements in service delivery.
Stagecoach South West’s Managing Director, Bob Dennison, said: “Paul joins us at an exciting point in our development. As well as Bob Dennison, Paul will work alongside Robert Williams, Commercial Director and Dave Wilkinson, Engineering Director to continue to deliver exceptional standards of service across all South West operations.
