Pop idol Olly Murs links up with Exeter Chiefs
High-flying Exeter Chiefs have forged a partnership with a top concert promoter to cross-support events.
Exeter's Premier League, rugby club, Exeter Chiefs and Stephen C Associates (SCA) have linked to support each other’s activities throughout the rest of 2017.
These include the summer concerts by Olly Murs on Saturday, July 29 and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra on Sunday July 30 at Powderham Castle and the Chief’s 2017/18 fixtures.
Events promoter SCA, which has worked with some of the world’s biggest stars, is also backing the rugby union club’s charity, The Exeter Foundation.
SCA boss Stephen McManus said: “We are delighted to have formed a partnership with the Chiefs, the West Country’s premier rugby club. They are such an integral part of the fabric of Exeter and we look forward to working closely together.
“We will also be doing out bit to support the Exeter Foundation, the club’s official ‘civic trust’ style charity fundraising arm which supports a variety of hugely worthwhile causes in the city and beyond.
The Sandy Park-based Chiefs, riding high in the Aviva Premiership and bringing European rugby to Exeter, number England stars Jack Nowell, Luke Cowan-Dickie and Henry Slade among their squad.
Chiefs Chairman and Chief Executive, Tony Rowe OBE, said: “As a long-established and successful institution in Exeter, we like to offer our support to the many and varied events that help to keep our great city buzzing.
“We jumped at the chance to work with SCA on the Olly Murs and BSO evenings at Powderham and hope there are plenty of future opportunities for our two organisations to build this relationship.”
The partnership means that the Chiefs will be promoting the concerts and corporate hospitality packages to up to 11,000 fans on Sandy Park match day big screens and programmes, as well as dedicated e-shots and banners.
In return, SCA is guaranteeing the Chiefs a full promotional and hospitality presence at the concerts as well as 10 per cent of all linked ticket sales going to the Foundation,
