Police investigating a burglary at the Public Hall, Budleigh Salterton, have confirmed that a ceremonial gold chain (pictured) has been stolen.

The incident happened between 10.15pm on Wednesday 19th April 2017 and 10.50am the next day.

The front door of the building was forced and an untidy search of the building was made, with cupboards opened and further damage caused to internal doors.

The chain that was taken, which holds a pendant (also pictured) which was not taken, is worth approximately £300. It is an un-hallmarked yellow 9ct gold of an alternate circular link design.

Police ask that if you have been offered a chain like this for sale, and are uncertain of it provenance, that you get in touch, also if you saw anything suspicious in the area of the Public Hall around the time of the incident.

If you have any information that would help police with their enquiries, please email police at 101@dc.police.uk or call 101 quoting reference CR/029336/17.
