Great start to the season for leading Devon family attraction
Devon’s Crealy, located just off junction 30 on the M5, is reporting a great start to the year and the double award-winning Park is predicting a good year for the South West tourism industry.
February started off well, for Devon’s Crealy, when it was announced that they had been voted ‘Overall Winner’ and ‘Best Family Attraction’ by Primary Times readers and scooped the Star Awards for the second consecutive year.
Josh Haywood, General Manager of Devon’s Crealy said, “We were absolutely delighted to learn the readers of Primary Times had voted us the winner of two Star Awards for a second year running. We are always looking at ways to enhance the experience for our guests, with our huge portfolio of rides and attractions, and we are looking forward to this continuing with an exciting year ahead following February Half Term.”
Josh said, “I think the dry weather really helped attractions make the most of the start to the season and launching a brand new activity called Explorers Week, specifically for February Half Term, certainly helped Crealy attract a lot of attention. It was an extremely popular family activity and was really well received by those visiting us for the first time, as well as those returning to Crealy for the first time this year.”
Explorers Week was a treasure hunt style activity for children of all ages and was introduced by Crealy to help encourage further exploration of the 100 acre site and its 60 fun filled attractions during half term.
Josh explains: “What we found was that most families got into the habit of only visiting certain parts of the Park. Creating a treasure hunt style activity called the ‘Explorers Trail’, given to every child on entry to the Park, really helped to encourage more people to rediscover or unearth even more fun.”
The activity, relevant for all ages, entitled each child to collect a medal from Guest Services as a reward for their efforts. Crealy also encouraged families to enter the results of the Explorers Trail onto its new 3D style website as all correct answers are entered into a competition where a family could win four flights to Barcelona, courtesy of Flybe (winner to be announced soon).
Josh comments: “Our attention is now firmly on Easter and helping families make the most of their time together. We will continue to build on the success of Half Term and this year we will have a twist on our usual Easter Egg Hunt, as we are teaming up with HARIBO to offer every child visiting the Park during the Easter bank holiday weekend, a mini bag of HARIBO Bunny Mix, with the opportunity to win a holiday over the weekend too!”
Devon’s Crealy will also be launching two very exciting new attractions, Safari Express and Jungle Wars, this Easter.
The Park is open every weekend until 23rd March, opening seven days a week thereafter and Devon’s Crealy has plenty planned for visitors this Easter, including Easter Fun with HARIBO and the ever-popular character days with special appearances by Peppa Pig & Tree Fu Tom.
