Exeter Guildhall hosts its first ever wedding show and fayre
The Lord Mayor, Councillor Rob Newby, accompanied by the Lady Mayoress, hosted the Guildhall's first ever wedding fashion show and fayre last weekend. The two events raised more than £1,000 for the Lord Mayor’s chosen charity, Socops.
The fashion show on Friday 1 March was opened by the Faces of Princesshay 2012-2013, Lucy Nicholson and Ashley Knight. Local fashion retailer Catwalk 09 showed a vast array of stunning dresses for all ages and male models looked dashing in suits provided by Moss Bros.
On 2 March the Lord Mayor opened the Guildhall’s first wedding fayre. Local wedding suppliers met brides-to-be and their fiancés to help plan their perfect day and to apply the finishing touches. There was also an opportunity to view the special and historic facilities at the Guildhall, which is licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies.
In the afternoon the Deputy Lord Mayor, Councillor Percy Prowse, drew the winner of the weekend's prize. Mr A Carter, was the lucky winner of a free wedding at the Guildhall, a beauty treatment for the bride by Decleor and a paper bouquet by the Paper Florist.
