Police are appealing to the public for their assistance after launching an investigation into a sexual assault in an Exeter Nightclub.

Investigating officer Chris Raddan, said: “This incident relates to an alleged sexual assault within the top floor bar at Rosie’s Nightclub, Mary Arches Street, Exeter, at approximately 12.45am on Sunday 1 October.

“The victim, a woman in her 20’s, was sexually assaulted by one of a group of three men who approached her at the bar whilst she was waiting for a drink. She was then further assaulted and this resulted in a struggle, which led to her having her hair pulled and a thumb in the eye.

“The group are described as three young men in their 20’s; two where white and one with tanned skin and a beard. Whilst this description is vague, the bar was busy at the time and we are hoping that someone witnessed the altercation.

“No-one should be sexually assaulted, and just because you have had a drink and are in a nightclub it doesn’t make this type of unwarranted attention acceptable or excusable.

“I hope that someone was in the club who witnessed this attack, and will come forward to help police.”
