New faces at popular city networking group

BUSINESS owners based in the Southernhay area of the city will have some new faces at the helm of their popular networking group.

Marketing and communications company McQueenie Mulholland has joined Kirk Hills Chartered Accountants to run the quarterly Southernhay Breakfast Club.

The group was initially set up in 2012 by Beckworth Financial Services and Kirk Hills, to cater for businesses in Southernhay, where both companies are based.

Adrian Hills, partner in Kirk Hills said: ‘We could see that there was so much potential for the businesses in this really rather special corner of Exeter to work together more, and we felt that there was an awful lot that we could learn from each other’.

Jonathan Wadsworth, director of Beckworth Financial Services added ‘We have had a fabulous six years jointly running the club but it feels as though the time is right to take a step back. McQueenie Mulholland are very much about community and collaboration and they felt like a good fit for the breakfast club.’

Previous guest speakers have included Michelin starred chef Michael Caines MBE, Chair of the Exeter Chiefs Tony Rowe and television personality Katie Hopkins.

Sue McQueenie, managing partner at McQueenie Mulholland said they were thrilled to be involved in the club.

She added: ‘We have been attending Southernhay Breakfast Club for a couple of years, and have always found it to be a great opportunity to network and to meet our colleagues and neighbours.

‘We are very excited to be working with Kirk Hills and are looking forward to delivering an interesting range of speakers and carrying on the good work of the Beckworth team’.

The next Southernhay Breakfast Club will take place on Friday, June 8 at 8.15am, at the Mercure Southgate Hotel. The guest speaker will be Tabitha Amador-Christie, who will tell the story of how she converted her family home near Crediton to become the beautiful boutique hotel, Paschoe House. The cost to attend is £9.50, which includes a bacon or egg roll, tea and coffee. To attend the club your business must be based in Southernhay or surrounding area.
