Bridge Road in Exeter will be closed overnight on Wednesday 9 May.

The road will be closed from 8.30pm on Wednesday 9 May, and will re-open by 5:30am the following morning (Thursday 10 May).

The closure is needed for the installation of Automatic Traffic Counters, and Devon County Council’s maintenance contractor Skanska will also be taking the opportunity to clean out drainage gullies.

The traffic counters are magnetic loops sealed in the road surface which record the number of vehicles travelling over them and feed the information to a roadside cabinet. The data provides essential information for transport planning.

During the closure the diversion route will be signed via Topsham Road, Alphington Road, Marsh Barton and the A379.

Details of changes to Stagecoach bus services will be available at https://www.stagecoachbus.com/regional-service-updates/south-west/greate...

Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be available, but they are advised to use the footway/cycleway to avoid construction vehicles.
