Covent Garden comes to Exmouth
A taste of London comes to Exmouth next week, as the first in a series of theatre shows is streamed live from the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
A performance of the well-known ballet Swan Lake, is the first in a season of events aimed at making the Queen’s Drive Space area somewhere for all generations to enjoy.
Last month saw the opening of the Jurassic-themed play park, and food and drink village, and this screening of Swan Lake (which is free, with no booking required) is the first to be shown in the brand new events space, which sits just behind the food and drink village run by Taste of the West.
Councillor Phillip Skinner said:
‘We’re all really looking forward to the temporary attractions that have been approved for the seafront and it means Exmouth will be really buzzing with activity for residents and visitors of all ages this summer.’
Local pub chain Oddfellows provide the on-site bar, which will remain open for all of the shows and live screenings, and the food stalls will also remain open for theatre goers to purchase food for the performance.
Swan Lake will be shown at 7pm on Tuesday 12 June. Please check the website www.queensdrivespace.co.uk for further information and performance dates and times. A limited number of deck chairs are provided, so visitors are asked to bring their own chair or picnic blanket where possible.
