THEATRE

Ugly Duckling
Saturday, Exeter Northcott
Ugly Duckling is lonely and fed-up, ignored by those around her who think she is too ugly to fit in. She tries to make friends with fellow ducklings as well as with frogs, cats and even a fox, but realising she is not like any of these animals, she is left sad and alone. Follow the duckling on her journey as she overcomes her troubles and realises that she was beautiful all along.Retelling the famous Hans Christian Andersen fairytale, Ugly Duckling is the perfect opportunity for your little ones to enjoy live ballet, music and theatre for the first time. https://exeternorthcott.co.uk/calendar/ugly-duckling/

Hot Flushes
Saturday, 7.30pm, Exeter Phoenix
A re-imagining of the BHS pension crisis. A script-in-hand performance of a new play with music. It’s 2016. Lady Green is on £100m SuperYacht, Lionheart, Sir Green is taking questions from the select committee, and Sandra, who has worked thirty years at Croydon branch, is reeling from the loss of her pension. The store’s closing but there’s no closure for Sandra, not even in the stoic lyrics of her favourite country songs. That’s until a chance encounter in the ladies’ fitting rooms with a member of the National Rifle Association. It seems Sandra has a lot to learn from the women of the Round Rock chapter of the Well-Armed Woman… £5 to reserve a seat or pay what you feel on the door.  www.exeterphoenix.org.uk
