Exeter Camerata: A new chamber orchestra for the South West
Exeter Camerata is an exciting new chamber orchestra based in Exeter comprising some 35 of the very best musicians in the area.
Led by well known violinist Antony Clements and directed by Tony Hindley, audiences can expect appealing concert programmes expertly delivered.
The orchestra is the brainchild of Musical Director Tony Hindley who saw a need for a high standard smaller orchestra playing the classical repertoire in the Exeter area. Tony says: “Using such good musicians means that the standard of the music making will be very high.
"As the players are already very busy, concerts are therefore being scheduled for early in the term to avoid clashes with other ensembles and this also gives audiences the chance to see live music from local musicians at times when there may be little music available”.
The first concert, which will showcase music by Beethoven, Schubert, Haydn and Mozart, takes place at the United Reformed Church, Princesshay in Exeter on Saturday 20th October at 7.30pm.
