Stagecoach staff raise funds at World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event
Stagecoach South West has raised £500 for Macmillan Cancer Support, following a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event at the Exeter depot.
Staff were able to enjoy a morning cuppa with colleagues, along with a tempting selection of homemade cakes and treats, all of which were available for a small donation to Macmillan.
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. Individuals and organisations from all over the UK host their own Coffee Mornings and donations on the day are made to Macmillan. Last year alone, the charity raised over £27 million and since 1990 the event has raised over £200 million.
Managing Director Bob Dennison commented: “There was a great effort made by our staff and the team had a great time getting together to raise funds.
“Macmillan play an important part in the local community and, by participating in the coffee morning, we are helping to raise awareness and much needed funds to help support people who are living with cancer."
Earlier today, Bob Dennison and the Exeter depot team presented a cheque, for the money raised at the coffee morning, to the charity’s Regional Fundraising Manager Jo Anne Rigby.
Jo Anne said: “We are so grateful to the Exeter Depot team for getting together and raising such a phenomenal amount at their coffee morning. Macmillan relies on the fantastic support from the local communities and coffee morning is a great way of spending time together and eating cake. Thank you to everyone who participated.”
