Taylor praises character of team after draw against Colchester
Exeter City manager Matt Taylor praised the character of his team as they came from a goal down to draw with promotion rivals Colchester United.
Colchester took the lead when Sammie Szmodics volleyed home from outside the area with 67 minutes on the clock, but the Grecians responded quickly and levelled inside three minutes as Jayden Stockley bundled the ball home from close-range for his 11th goal of the season.
“It was a hard-earned point definitely,” said Matt. “Credit to the boys we went behind to what was a very good strike. It was probably going to take something special to break the deadlock, but to get back into the game straight away was outstanding from the character of the group."
