Lightfoot formally announces The Honest Truth as its Charity of the Year
Lightfoot, the maker of the world’s first technology to reward better drivers, has announced The Honest Truth as its first official Charity of the Year.
Having originally asked staff for recommendations of charities to support, Lightfoot’s board of directors whittled down all nominations to a shortlist of three before giving the deciding vote back Lightfoot’s staff. The Honest Truth came out firm favourite in the final poll, claiming 51% of the total votes cast.
Part of the reason behind the popularity of the charity is the number of similarities between the two organisations. Both are based in Devon, and both are committed to improving road safety by encouraging safer driving habits.
Lightfoot itself incentivises a smoother, more economical and safety-conscious driving style with rewards, prizes, and cash giveaways for its users. The Honest Truth works with emergency services, Local Authorities, and approved driving instructors “to help reduce the number of young people killed and seriously injured on our roads”.
Lightfoot and its employees will be completing fundraising events and activities throughout the year to support The Honest Truth in their efforts to save lives and make roads safer across the UK.
Announcing the partnership, Mark Roberts, CEO and founder of Lightfoot, stated:
“This is a match made in heaven. The work conducted by The Honest Truth is saving lives around the country every day. There aren’t many organisations out there who can claim to have such a positive impact on the world and so I am delighted that Lightfoot will be supporting The Honest Truth as our inaugural Charity of the Year.”
Annette Lloyd, CEO of The Honest Truth, added:
“Lightfoot is doing fantastic work in making vehicles greener and safer. To have their support in both name and in respect of fundraising is fantastic news for The Honest Truth. We look forward to a great year working together and hope to make a real impact in the process.”
