Job lifeline for Flybe ex-employees
Following the collapse of Flybe and various other airlines, global aviation jobs site Aviation Job Search will host a free online job fair on Friday 20th March for those who have suffered job losses.
The job fair will run from 10:00am until 4:00pm, and is free to attend for all.
The event is also being held online to combat any concerns surrounding networking in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak.
Managing Director of Aviation Job Search Dave Capper had this to say: “We’ve seen so many airlines collapse recently, and this has been devastating for thousands of people.”
“As an industry, we have to work together and take responsibility to help these skilled workers back into jobs, which is why we’ve set up the online job fair. Hopefully this comes as some positive news for those who have been unexpectedly thrust into unemployment, particularly Flybe and Thomas Cook ex-employees who are still looking for work.”
Flybe collapsed last week as a result of ongoing financial difficulties, paired with the challenges brought upon the aviation industry from coronavirus.
Other airlines have come forward since the outbreak of coronavirus to warn of job losses following the sudden drop in ticket purchases.
Those who attend the job fair will have the opportunity to chat directly with airline and MRO companies, take away resources to help with job searching and attend seminars and speeches where you can listen to ambassadors of the industry and other companies discuss key areas of interest.
The event will also host guest speaker Matt Craven, Managing Director of CV and Interview Advisors, who will hold a seminar on strategies to excel in interviews to get more job offers at a higher salary.
Capper went on to say: “It’s an easily accessible event - all you need is a device connected to wi-fi to attend.”
