There are many excellent initiatives that businesses undertake to save the environment and create a sustainable space. Ecology-friendly items that reduce our carbon footprint are soon becoming the norm. Most eco-friendly companies are going out of their way to improve their products and promote sustainable products.

One such company is Circular & Co.

Cornwall-based Circular & Co believe that practical change in the right direction can help reduce plastic waste in the world. Waste dumping, landfills, and pollution are constant threats to the environment. To combat this, Circular & Co have made it their mission to decrease the environmental footprint of their products by introducing a natural, sustainable way of coffee consumption.

Circular & Co believe in driving the change with a paradigm shift in their products. They believe their true legacy is the journey of the products rather than just the result. They worked with industry experts and rigorously tested the products to ensure that the effect was not harmful to the environment. In the age of toxic landfills and dumping, Circular & Co came up with the idea of coffee cups that are reusable.

Make a change:

Circular & Co have long since been advocates of the evils of plastic. Plastic has devastating consequences on the ecology since it is non-biodegradable. While everyone understands the perils associated with plastic use, Circular & Co helped come up with solutions. Understanding the problem is one thing; being the change is another. They spent hours with design teams to find eco-friendly solutions like reusable cups, eco pots, and eco clocks (to name a few).

Making a change with small steps can have a snowballing effect in the long term. With each reduction in single-use plastic, the Earth can slower recover and heal from the toxicity.

Sustainability:

Everyone talks about the big game of sustainability. However, not many people understand how to practise what they preach. Circular & Co decided to walk the talk. They decided that they wanted to contribute towards a better future for everyone. They accounted for the impact that non-sustainable products have on the market and decided that sustainability was the best way forward.

With this thought in mind, they took up sustainability as a responsibility. This responsibility trickled down from top management to employees, homes, suppliers, vendors, and customers.

Circular & Co took a hard look at their products and decided that great design and creativity need to come together to create better-sustained products. These products should be easy to recycle towards the end of their life cycle and create a favourable ecosystem.

The cup for the future:

The Circular Cup is one of the best products from Circular & Co. It is not yet legally allowed to manufacture coffee cups from 100% recyclable material (because of stringent food safety norms). Instead, Circular & Co are working on the first 100% recyclable, reusable cup launch in the near future.

Reducing the carbon footprint:

Circular & Co shifted their manufacturing facility from China to the UK simply because it would help reduce the carbon footprint. The brilliance of Circular Cups is that the footprint of the cup is neutralised after 22 years (including the transport and versus single-use plastic). It has multiple uses and can easily last nearly ten years.

Packaging:

Circular & Co realised that packaging material was the key to creating sustainable products. To this end, they reduced the packaging material used in the manufacture of Circular Cups. They use 100% recycled stocks for the outer wrapping and the two individual leaflets.

The outer cartons of the packaging are also made from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) cardboard.

Collections:

Circular & Co have several product collections to make a selection. All these products are eco-friendly and reusable.

  • Reusable coffee cups: Made from single-use paper cups, the reusable coffee cups and travel mug is 100% leak proof with a push-lid mechanism. The cups are also insulated to protect your hands and keep the drink warm for nearly 90 minutes. After ten years, the Circular Cup can be recycled and regenerated into a brand new cup.
  • Sustainable homeware: The sustainable homeware collection is built to last with recycled materials. The homeware collection is contemporary and functional yet filled with household essentials. The resources used in manufacturing these products are plastics, cork, and recycled paper.
  • ECOPOTS plant pots: As the name suggests, the ECOPOTS Plant Pots are planter pots that are handcrafted from natural stone and recycled plastics. They are shock-proof, frost-resistant, and UV proof to protect your plants and home. The shelf life of the pots is ten years, and they can be recycled after that.
