Free Dr Bike servicing in Exeter
Princesshay is pleased to announce its support for a sustainable travel initiative with Exeter based charity, Ride on Cycling, by providing prime city centre retail space for free Dr Bike checks.
The project, which has been co funded by The Big Give and Exeter’s City Councils Live & Move project, will enable Ride-On to offer free ‘check and tune’ 30 minute bike sessions, dealing with any quick fixes and advising on any major works people might need.
Founded in 2011, Ride-On Cycling’s vision is to see a cleaner, healthier and more active Exeter by supporting people to cycle more with safe and reliable bikes.
Michelle Menzes, Princesshay Centre Manager, says, “We are delighted to be able to support this initiative. It’s great to be able to offer the pop-up space for Ride on Cycling to expand their services into the city centre.”
Will Page, Head of Charity for Ride On Cycling, says We will provide free 30-minute bike checks on the high street to shoppers, staff and residents over the summer with this funding,” explains Will Page, Head of Charity at Ride On. “Our mechanics can fix simple issues like loose brakes, slipping gears and make sure your bike is safe whilst you buy a coffee, or do your shopping.”
“This will create an incentive for shoppers to visit the high street by bike, it will help retail and hospitality staff switch their commute to bike, and help local residents get their unused bicycles back into working order. We are incredibly grateful to Princesshay, the Big Give and Live & Move for supporting this project.”
The free bike checks will be available in Princesshay until October, visit the Princesshay website for more information on how to book www.princesshay.co.uk/drbike
