Exeter care home embraces Flower Power
Residents at Cumberland Grange in Exeter celebrated International Flower Day which took place on 19th January.
International Flower Day promotes the psychological boost that flowers can give to people. From growing and nurturing plants and flowers, to gifting flowers to show love and appreciation, and sometimes just the simple act of admiring their beauty – flowers have the power to make someone’s day.
Residents enjoyed an afternoon of Flower Arranging so that they could fill the home with lots of colour. Residents also had an extra lovely surprise from the children at Monkerton Community Primary School – they went the extra mile and made our residents some beautiful tissue paper flower bouquets, hand painted flowers in vases and a large flower wall poster which the children painted using their fingers. Staff and residents were blown away by the children’s efforts, and now proudly display their artwork throughout the home.
Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
We’re making our homes as safe as possible and will ensure that all new residents and staff are vaccinated before moving in or working in our homes. Please do give us a call on 01392 357 270 if you are looking for care or need any further help.
