
Accountants Thompson Jenner appoint two new Partners
Thompson Jenner LLP, one of Devon’s leading firms of accountants and business advisors, is delighted to announce the appointment of two new partners.
Paul Carnell and Dave Tucker, who were both previously experienced managers at the firms Exmouth office have become partners of the firm from the 1st April 2013. The appointment of two new partners is part of the firm’s medium term plan to grow and strengthen its practice across the firms Exeter and Exmouth offices.
Commenting on the appointments, Neil Curtis, Managing Partner, said: “I would like to offer my congratulations to both Paul and Dave on their recent appointments to partners.
"Their contribution over the last number of years has been significant and the partnerships are just reward for all their efforts. Paul Carnell joined Thompson Jenner in 1998, qualifying with the firm, before taking on a number of senior management roles firstly in audit, specialising in FSA and specialist assignments, before moving on to corporate and personal taxation. He specialises in owner managed businesses, corporate and unincorporated, advising on all aspects of accountancy, taxation, management accounting and business start-ups. He has particular specialisms in tax planning and also the medical sector, in particular dental practices.
He said on his appointment: “I am delighted to be taking on the role of Partner at such an exciting time for Thompson Jenner. I am looking forward to playing a part in growing our staff and client base over the coming years and recognise the importance that this is done against a backdrop of a strong and supportive management team.”
Dave Tucker joined Thompson Jenner in 1997 as a trainee Accounting Technician and then progressed onto his Chartered Certified Exams. He qualified in 2002 and was appointed as Senior Audit Manager specialising in audits for SME's, large companies and charitable organisations. Dave was appointed as Head of Audit in 2011, managing clients across the firm along with leading the firm’s specialist education team responsible for academy schools and educational trusts.
Dave will be the firm's Partner responsible for the audit team and will be based in both the Exeter and Exmouth offices.
He said: “The audit process is ever changing and one that certainly keeps you on your toes. Over the past two years there have been some significant changes. My role is to oversee and maintain the high standards of our audit team and team here at the firm whilst making sure everyone is kept up to date with the latest training. I am also looking forward to growing our education sector and client base over the coming months and helping to guide Academy schools through the audit process.”
