Berry Recruitment’s Exeter branch has moved to the city centre as it continues to expand and search for workers.

The team of five believes relocating to The Mount in Paris Street will attract more walk-ins from job hunters.

Its less central location worked when lockdowns prevented face-to-face interviews but now there is a renewed emphasis on meeting candidates in person.

The branch recruits in sectors including office and professional, driving and industrial and hospitality and catering.

Manager Cory Elliott said: “There is definitely a shortage of candidates and moving to the centre is helping us attract new ones.

“There is a much greater footfall and more people are returning to offices so it helps to be in the heart of the business community.

“We are by the new bus station and the office in The Mount is ideal – it also has a pool table and meeting and conference spaces where we enjoy attending networking events.

“We have already attracted candidates who dropped in and were just after some extra money in the run-up to Christmas.

“Students and people wanting part time work have also walked in and we’ve been able to help them all.

“We have many temporary and permanent roles, which is a good indicator that the economy in Exeter is still strong.

“We always like to see candidates face-to-face as it helps us make sure they get the right roles – and that is easier now with an office in the city centre.

“We have well over 30 years’ experience between us and we’d encourage everyone to come in and say hello.”

The branch is part of Berry Recruitment Group (BRG) which works from nearly 40 locations across England and Wales.
