Exeter Scout and Guide Gang Show celebrates 40 years in the city

Exeter Scout and Guide Gang Show will be celebrating an amazing 40 years as it returns to the city this Easter.

Taking place from Wednesday 5th to Saturday 8th April at Isca Academy, Exeter Gang Show is packed full of popular songs, dance, comedy and laugh out loud sketches performed by Scouts and Guides from across Exeter and the local area.

The cast of 60 Cubs, Brownies, Scouts, Guides, Explorers, Rangers and their Leaders are coming together to mark 40 years since the very first Exeter Gang Show was performed back in 1983.

The Gang Show is a real mix of music, dance and comedy, boasting over 40 different songs, spread across 14 scenes exploring everything from science to news and Cluedo to cowboys. All this is stitched together with fast-paced sketches and dances including something from the prehistoric to the very modern day.

Co-producers of the show, Helen Bryant and Dave Britton said: “Exeter Gang Show is incredibly proud to be turning 40 this year. Throughout those 40 years the show has allowed Scout and Guides ranging from age 9 and up, to build confidence, learn new skills and make life-long friends while showcasing what they can do in front of the local community.

“The show is a great night out for all the family. There really is something for everyone with sections exploring the origins of the universe, the wonders of the world and in celebration of our 40thbirthday, songs from the decades stretching from 1983 right up to 2023. Most of all it brings together all ages from Guiding and Scouting, giving them the opportunity to perform on stage, enjoy the limelight and take away that buzz that you can only get from the roar of the crowd.”

The Exeter Scout and Guide Gang Show will be at Isca Academy, Exeter from Wednesday 5th to Saturday 8th April. Performances start at 7.00 pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.00 pm. Tickets cost £11.50 or £9.50 for concessions. Tickets are available online from www.ticketsource.co.uk/exetergangshow
