Cumberland Grange Care Home in Exeter was delighted to welcome some very special feathered visitors for the day recently, when some magnificent birds of prey came to visit.

Residents were given the opportunity to get up close to the impressive birds, along with learning more about the history and characteristics of the different breeds, as part of a very special animal therapy session.

The birds were brought in by David Buncle from Westcounty Falconry, who shared his great passion and knowledge of these birds with everyone, and many of the residents were absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to be in such close proximity.

One of the residents said: “I really enjoyed having all the birds come to visit. I have never seen anything like this up close before and it was such a special experience.”

General Manager Marc Chudley said: “We all enjoyed a wonderful afternoon meeting these impressive creatures. We are always looking for new activities for the residents and today we have seen the incredible enjoyment everyone gained from this visit and it will certainly beencouraging new conversations.”
