Bloor Homes has teamed up with Guide Dogs for the Blind to celebrate the launch of a brand-new country park with a dog-friendly Family Fun Day on Saturday 21st September.

Guide Dogs and Guide Dog puppies will coming along to the ‘dog-friendly do’ at the ‘Bloor Homes at Pinhoe’s development in Exeter, where there will also be a dog-themed charity raffle and an ice cream van complete with dog ice cream. There will also be a Guide Dogs stand including a Tombola and Guide Dogs merchandise and all proceeds will go to the charity locally. There will be opportunities to meet a Guide Dog and learn more about how the puppies and dogs are raised and trained.

Residents, as well as the wider community in Pinhoe are invited to come along and find out more about the country park, delivered as part of the original planning agreement for the development.

Steph Ubl, Sales Manager for Bloor Homes’ Exeter region, said: “We are excited to officially launch the country park at Pinhoe. We have saved the best for last and are thrilled to launch it as a place for the whole community to enjoy.

We know this will be a popular spot for dog walking and socialising amongst the residents, so putting on a dog friendly event whilst raising money for Guide Dogs for the Blind made sense. We look forward to welcoming people and their pooches to the development on 21st September to see the country park for themselves.”

Guide Dogs for the Blind restores freedom and independence to the visually impaired whilst highlighting the powerful bond between people and dogs.

Di Hatchett,  Co-ordinator, Exeter and District Fundraising Group for the Charity, said:

“We are so very grateful to Bloor Homes for supporting Guide Dogs by raising much needed funds. Every day 250 more people join the 2 million already living with sight loss and this number is set to double by 2050. The funds raised at this ‘dog friendly family fun day’ will support Guide Dogs to help people with sight loss now, and in the future.”

Local businesses have kindly donated a range of dog-themed raffle prizes, including: a meal voucher for 2 at The Red Lion Broadclyst Pub in Pinhoe; a voucher for dog teeth cleaning with Grooming by Lauren, a hamper for dogs from Heart Pet Supplies, and a dog training session from local training experts Pawfect Pact.

There are currently ten different three and four bedroom homes released across a mix of seven different house styles at the Bloor Homes at Pinhoe development, all of which come with solar panels and an EV charging point.

Steph adds: “This our third and final phase at this lovely development and those interested in the remaining homes can find out more about our new homes either by coming along to our dog friendly event, or visiting bloorhomes.com. Don’t wait until it’s too late to have your very own country park on your doorstep!”
