South-West family firm secures new regional office amid huge contract wins
Local family-run business Severnside Security has marked further growth with the opening of a new regional office in Exeter.
This is the firm’s third regional UK office, opening in response to a significant number of new contracts in Devon, from both public and private sectors clients. The office will act as a strategic hub for the far South West, and the enhanced presence in the region will enable Severnside to support both new and existing clients, as well as host its regional engineers.
Renowned as one of Gloucestershire’s first security companies to support and serve commercial and residential properties across the county, Severnside Security has grown nationwide since its launch in 1992.
The second-generation family firm, which delivers fire and security system solutions, already operates two offices in Gloucester, and the opening of the new site in Marsh Barton, Exeter has been fuelled by its recent expansion into Devon and Cornwall.
Severnside’s large client base covers multiple sectors, including the public sector encompassing Housing Associations, Local Authority contracts, and schools, as well as retail, hospitality, commercial, private business and private residential.
Kane Lewis, Managing Director of Severnside Security said; “The opening of our new office in the region is a milestone for our growth strategy as we look to expand across the South West and South East. It also reflects our increasing presence in the region and underscores our commitment to service excellence in delivering innovative and comprehensive security and fire safety solutions.”
He continues: “The office has been designed as a strategic hub to support Devon and Cornwall and to better service our most prominent client contracts in the region. Currently, these contracts account for 15% of our national turnover, but this strategic hub will enable acceleration to 25% of our national turnover, aligned to the business’s growth plans as well.
“What’s clear is that the demand for our services shows no signs of slowing down as we celebrate a number of significant contract wins. We are looking forward to what lies ahead and are dedicated to protecting businesses and communities throughout the region with exceptional service and knowledge.”
An added advantage of the strategic hub is in streamlining parts and hardware distribution for contracts, servicing them locally rather than from the Gloucestershire office. This has shifted sourcing to a regional Devon base, adding around £100,000 in local economy purchasing. The expansion has also created nine new jobs, which is set to grow by 50% by 2025.
