A fantastic opportunity to experience Dartmoor in all its glory takes place on Sunday 19 May.

The  Circular Walk of Discovery is a 3-hour  guided walk around Dartmoor with Tony Burges, a qualified leader from Moorland Guides

The walk visits many parts of this historic landscape including Haytor Quarry, the Granite Tramway, bronze age round houses and lots more. Mix this beautiful and historic landscape with Tony’s knowledge of the area’s history, myths and legends and you are sure to have a fantastic day out!

Starting from Haytor Lower Carpark at 10.30am, the three-hour walk is free and there is no need to book, but donations will be gladly received for Devon Air Ambulance Trust once you have completed the walk.

Tony Burgess is a long-standing volunteer of Devon Air Ambulance Trust and wants to help get more people involved.

“Volunteering is so crucial to the cause - meet new friends, have a purpose, put something back and to have satisfaction that you have helped someone somewhere. You never know it might be your friend or a neighbour that may require the swift service of the Air Ambulance team at any time.”

The walk will be easy going and suitable for most ages - a great introduction to Dartmoor. Please bring a packed lunch, outdoor clothing and footwear suitable for the British weather conditions!
