Nutritive oils leave your hair soft, shiny and sleek

One of the biggest selling products in the hair industry at the moment is hair oils. You will no doubt have seen so many different options and brands all competing for a position in this demanding market.
Oils are big at the moment because they are extremely effective and do an amazing job with your hair. We have all seen how important oils and serums are in the beauty industry for our skins and for moisturising and this technology is now being transferred over into the hair industry, where they are incredibly nutritive without being heavy and they leave hair soft, shiny and sleek without a hint of greasiness.
My personal favourite is Elixir from Kerastase. I have trialled four different oils from different labels and this is by far the most luxurious and concentrated. It smells gorgeous and off the back of their original famed gold Elixir they have launched three new fragranced Elixirs including one that smells exactly like Coco Mademoiselle. The new Elixirs are more prescriptive and are perfect for colour-treated or fine hair.
Oils can be used as a treatment ritual, smoothing blowdrying product or luxurious finishing serum. Elixir is coined as a versatile beautifying oil and is gorgeous used for all of these purposes.
To use Elixir as a treatment ritual for giving hair a super moisturising boost that leaves hair silky and a lot less brittle and therefore super shiny try this step by step application.
1. Divide dry hair in two from the forehead to the nape.
2. Apply two to three pumps into the hands and warm through whilst rubbing onto the palms.
3. Apply the oil to the mid lengths and ends of the hair and then with a wide tooth comb, comb through and work gently into the hair.
4. For optimum results wrap the hair in a towel and leave for as long as possible.
5. Shampoo the hair twice ideally with the new Elixir shampoo and condition with the new Elixir conditioner.
Once you have shampooed and conditioned your hair continue your hair treatment by applying Elixir to towel-dried hair before you blow dry your hair. This will ensure a frizz-free and silky smooth finish. Applied to wet hair, It makes hair instantly less tangley and smells beautiful. Use your normal volumising and heat protecting products on top of the Elixir before blow drying and style as normal.
To finish off, use half a pump of the Elixir rubbed into your palms and smooth through the mid-lengths and ends to polish it off beautifully and to add real shine.
You will really notice your hair's incredible condition after trying this. Not only does the oil soften the hair cuticles, but it emulsifies impurities from the hair as well so it lifts out sprays, pollution and hair-dulling build-up from the hair when it is shampooed off, leaving lightweight, silky hair. Gorgeous!
