Local care home hosts Oscars awards ceremony

Cumberland Grange Care Home in Exeter were bang on trend recently when residents and their guests celebrated their very own Oscars Awards Ceremony.

There were ten awards for Residents and ten awards for Staff to be won, with lots of nominees. With categories ranging from the person with the kindest heart, to the person who drinks the most coffee.

The afternoon kicked off with a musical saxophone performance with plenty of dancing, before canapes and bubbles were served as everyone got seated ready for the Awards Ceremony to start.

The results of the winners left everyone with the warmest of hearts, with plenty of laughs and celebrating in between.

Beth, General Manager of Cumberland Grange Care Home said “We do our best to provide a wide range of activities and entertainment at Cumberland Grange as part of the lifestyle enrichment programme for residents, and having our very own Oscar’s event was a huge hit. Our residents, their families and our staff had the most wonderful afternoon.”

Avril, a resident at the home won ‘The Wise Owl Award – Always in the know’, and after realising that she had won this fabulous category, Avril said “Well, this is something I didn’t know about”, which left everyone laughing and clapping in celebration.

A fantastic afternoon was had by all.
