Good luck Team FORCE at the London Marathon
FORCE will have five people taking part in this year’s London Marathon on Sunday April 27.
Linda Grady, Sarah Moffat, Georgie Pigott, Ben Trigg, and Mark Wadeley-Jones will proudly wear the Team FORCE vest as they line up for start in Greenwich Park as part of a field of 56,000 runners.
They will tackle 26.2 miles around the capital and are on course to raise a fantastic amount of money for FORCE to help support local people affected by cancer.
With a few days to go before the big event, the fantastic five had already raised more than £6,500 in sponsorship and with Gift Aid added, that figure rises to nearly £8,000.
“FORCE is there to help you and your loved ones and friends through every step of a cancer diagnosis, treatment and aftercare,” said Linda.
Worthwhile
“Both my parents and nan unfortunately suffered from cancer and we all know someone who has or is currently suffering and need their support. I would be very grateful if you could please donate to a very worthwhile cause,” she added.

Sarah is a former finance manager at FORCE.
She said: “I'm excited to finally be running the London Marathon in 2025 as it's been on my wish list for a number of years now!
“I'm thrilled to be fundraising for FORCE Cancer Charity which is a fantastic local charity supporting anyone locally affected by cancer.
Appreciated
“Any amount you can donate would be hugely appreciated and will keep me going during the training for my first ever marathon!”

Ben got into the marathon via the ballot but said: “Given recent events I feel it's appropriate to run for a charity. This charity is FORCE, a specific charity to support people who have had or are living with cancer.
Amazing
“Taking a moment to reflect on recent weeks, a special mention goes out to Bev Beaven and his recent diagnosis. From what I know, the team who have helped Bev have been fantastic, and in the words of his wife Marian "AMAZING" so it is appropriate to do this run for them.”

After several years of trying, Mark Wadeley-Jones also secured a ballot place.
“This will be my first (and probably last) marathon and is something I always had on my bucket list,” he said.
“I have chosen FORCE as the charity that I am raising money for. They are a fantastic local charity who helped my wife, when she was diagnosed several years ago with breast cancer. The attention, care and thoughtfulness that was given by the staff was incredible, which, when you are going through a distressing situation, was amazing.
Superb
“Please donate whatever you can to help continue the superb work that FORCE do.”

Ceri Bastyan from the FORCE fundraising team liaises with all of FORCE’s community supporters.
“I just want to say how incredibly proud I am of each and every one of you,” she said. “The dedication, discipline, and determination you’ve shown in getting to this point is nothing short of inspiring.
“You’ve run in the rain, the cold, the early mornings and the late nights. You've pushed through sore legs, mental blocks and all the ups and downs that come with marathon training. And now, you’re ready.
Incredible
“No matter what happens on the course, you’ve already accomplished something incredible. So take a deep breath, smile, and go smash it.
“Let’s go, team FORCE!”
FORCE is a local independent charity relying entirely on voluntary funds. They are not part of the NHS and receive no funding from them.
As more and more people are living longer with cancer, which is extremely positive news, and diagnoses rise, FORCE is seeing many more people in need of our care. To be able to fund this increase they need support in meeting rising costs.
