Police investigate unexplained death in Sidmouth

Police are currently investigating an unexplained death in Sidmouth.

Officers were called at around 1.30pm today (9 July) after reports that a member of the public had found the body of a woman on the beach, approximately half a mile from Jacobs Ladder.

Along with police, the Sidmouth lifeboat, Coastguard and paramedics were called to the area.

The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. The death is currently being treated as unexplained.
