His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex KG GCVO will mark the tenth birthday of Living Coasts with a visit to the conservation charity on Monday 22 July.

His Royal Highness will tour Torquay’s coastal zoo and aquarium and meet staff involved in the project. The Earl will see puffins, penguins, wading birds, sea ducks and seals at close hand, both above and below the water.

Simon Tonge, the Executive Director of the Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust, the charity which owns Living Coasts, will invite His Royal Highness to unveil a commemorative plaque and sign the visitors’ book.

Living Coasts was officially opened by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal in September 2003.

Chairman of the Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust, Mr. Keith Mitchell said: “It will be a tremendous honour to welcome His Royal Highness to Living Coasts. The visit recognizes the hard work of staff, volunteers, trustees and contractors over the past ten years.”
