A late goal from Ryan Bowman gave Exeter City all three points in an eventful game in difficult conditions against Macclesfield Town.

The Grecians had led 2-0, before goals from Connor Kirby and Fiacre Kelleher brought the home side level, though Bowman’s goal late on decided the game.

Devon residents are being invited to join the Donation Generation by pledging to reuse and repair clothing as much as possible and reduce the estimated 10,000 items of clothing thrown away in the UK every five minutes.

Every pledge made will be entered in a prize draw on 2 March 2020, to win one of 10 Upcycling and Repair kits.

Local people receive special National Lottery 25th birthday funding to bring their great community ideas to life

The National Lottery is using Valentine’s Day to reveal some of the local champions who love their community so much that they applied for a special grant to do something positive locally – and were successful.

Over 50 projects in Devon will receive money from the fund – called #CelebrateNationalLottery25 – after they applied to the £2 million pot last December.

The fund, which has now closed, invited applications from anyone with a great idea to make a difference in their local community. Up to £1,000 was available to them, showing that no individual or idea is too small...

Devon braced for Storm Dennis

Devon is bracing itself for another weekend of stormy conditions with the arrival of Storm Dennis this weekend (Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 February).

Ottery garden centre announces impressive total raised for Hospiscare

The charity team at Otter Garden Centre in Ottery St Mary has revealed the total raised for their 2019 charity of the year, Hospiscare.

The team were delighted to announce that the final total soared over £11,500.

Branch Manager, John Giblin said: “Our fundraising efforts were helped immensely by the help we had from the Otter Vale Friends of Hospiscare, a local group of volunteers who supported many of our fundraising activities.

“They were amazing and worked really hard to make the partnership a success, which is reflected in the brilliant amount raised.”
