Baxter reacts to Champions Cup draw

Exeter Chiefs newcomer Stuart Hogg won't have to wait long for a reunion with former club Glasgow Warriors after the two clubs were drawn alongside one another in today's Heineken Champions Cup draw in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Picked out as one of the five Tier One sides, the Chiefs have been drawn against the Warriors, French outfit La Rochelle and Gallagher Premiership rivals Sale Sharks in a highly competitive Pool 2.

Former internationals Bryan Habana and Dimitri Yachvili conducted the draw, which brings together the top 20 club sides in European Rugby.

Volunteers needed to help map Exeter's tree canopy

Volunteers are being sought to help map Exeter’s tree canopy.

Exeter has higher than average tree coverage across the city. That figure was 24.5% when last mapped in 2006.

Thirteen years later and it is reckoned that coverage has gone down slightly and is now threatened by new pests and diseases, as well as development and climate change.

That’s why the City Council is working closely with Treeconomics based at the University to properly map Exeter’s current tree canopy.

An exciting and innovative new dementia service has just been launched for the local community of Teignmouth. The Ness Shed is built on the researched and well-known concept of the ‘Men’s Shed’ and, using the expertise of trained professionals, creates a unique environment for individuals with dementia to take part in manual and creative activities.
