Hidden just off the M5 at Junction 28 is the greatest weapon in any business’ armoury. Where once stood an old truck factory now stands a unique and quirky home to Business Titans. This building is bursting with character and quirky twists offering a refreshing alternative to the dull, humdrum, white box business atmospheres I frequently stumble upon. The Nook, which takes its name from the plethora of weird and wonderful nooks available within the building to work from is so much more than a place to work or meet people. The atmosphere is difficult to describe, there is a sense of fun, it...

The increasing recognition of the need to cope with change in positive and sustainable ways has led more businesses to turn toleadership skills and management training - but taught courses do not always deliver the desired outcomes.

According to Professor Peter Totterdill, CEO of Workplace Innovation Europe Limited (WIE), many enlightened employers and business ownersare committed to real transformation beyond “ticking the box”, leading teams of engaged employees who are more than willing to “go the extramile”.

However, he questions whether those who receive leadership and...

Church bells will be the back-up warning for flooding in Starcross.

The Environment Agency has worked with Starcross Flood Group, St Paul's Church and flood wardens to create a contingency plan unique to the village if all usual forms of communication fail.

The chances of residents not getting warned by traditional electronic methods via the flood warning service are remote. But every flood plan has a contingency and Megan Debenham, the Flood Group Co-ordinator for Starcross, suggested using the 18th and 19th-century bells in St Paul's Church.

Community fundraisers and funding from the agency has restored the bells and surrounding masonry...

A community choir was on song for suicide bereavement support charity Pete’s Dragons – boosting the cause to the tune of £1,760 with a pair of concerts.

The Exmouth-based charity - helping hundreds of people across Devon – is one close to the heart of the Big Noise Chorus.

Singers in the non-audition musical group, which has five choirs across the county, have experienced the loss of a loved-one to suicide.

Chorus member Judy Day put forward Pete’s Dragons as a beneficiary for the work it does helping people cope with suicide bereavement - always offering ongoing...

City 0 Tranmere Rovers 1

James Norwood’s deflected volley in the first-half was enough for Tranmere Rovers to overcome Exeter City at St James Park, despite a spirited fightback from the Grecians in the second half.

Boss Matt Taylor made two changes from the side that conceded late in Tuesday night’s draw in Lincoln City, with Lee Holmes and Randell Williams returning to the starting XI over Aaron Martin and Ryan Bowman.

It was the visitors who started the brighter of the two sides, with a flurry of chances to shoot following Ben Pringle’s free-kick into a dangerous area after five minutes, but...

Make no mistake, this was a brutal battle.

Fighting it out in the quest for valuable league points, by the time these two Premiership heavyweights wake-up tomorrow, the blood may have been vanished, but the scars of battle will still be clearly evident.

In the end, it was Exeter Chiefs who delivered the telling blows, maintaining their three-point lead at the top of the Gallagher Premiership by flooring rivals Sale Sharks for a second time this season.

First half tries from Ollie Devoto and Don Armand paved the way for their latest triumph, after which replacement...
