Stagecoach announces SW Falcon Christmas service

The South West Falcon from Stagecoach will be running throughout the Christmas holiday period, excluding Christmas Day, making it the ideal choice for a trip to the sales, a visit to the panto or a night out at New Year.

With up to 19 journeys a day, the Falcon connects Plymouth, Exeter, Taunton, Bristol Airport and Bristol city centre. All coaches feature free Wi-Fi as well as air conditioning, leather seats and charging sockets.

This month sees Boo to a Goose Theatre return to Devon Libraries for the second time this year, with their fantastically festive children’s show ‘Christmas Past and Present’.

Interactive and engaging from start to finish, the audience are greeted on arrival with the scent of gingerbread and spices, evoking the spirit of the season.

Such multi-sensory experiences are a trademark ingredient of Boo To A Goose Theatre’s shows, and were made all the merrier by the accompanying BSL signing from Catherine Hall.

First time buyers in Exeter welcome Stamp Duty scrapping

First time buyers in Exeter will likely be celebrating as the Chancellor has scrapped stamp duty taxes for first timers on properties up to the value of £300,000 in the Autumn Budget.

Those buying properties up to the value of £500,000 will also benefit from the tax break on the first £300,000 of their purchase. This will save those buying their first home thousands of pounds and means that 80 per cent of first time buyers will now not face any stamp duty charges at all.

Armed officers to patrol key festive locations across Devon

Police in Devon, Cornwall and Dorset will be patrolling key locations and events over the festive period and the New Year with support from armed officers.

Leading local advice charity, Citizens Advice Exeter, was honoured by the Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor, at a Reception at the historic Exeter Guildhall on Friday the 24th November.

The Reception marked the 70th anniversary of the charity since it first opened its doors to the people of the City in 1947 when it dealt with issues ranging from war-related questions, to housing and employment.
