We round off 2012 with "the most remarkable bluesman of his generation" (Blues in Britain). This charismatic multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and one man band is one of our most entertaining acts.

Eddie has the rare knack of writing blues songs that speak of now while paying dues to yesterday. His performance energy is infectious, as his national steel guitar, rack mounted harmonic and suitcase (acting as bass drum) pound out driving rhythms to complement his soulful vocals.

Huw Williams and Maartin Allcock come to Otterton Mill

Songwriter Huw and multi-instrumentalist Maartin first met on a Fairport Convention tour bus in 1995. Huw went on to conquer the British folk scene with singing partner Tony Williams until calling it a day in 2002, since when he's been a regular BBC Radio 4 contributor.

Over a 30 year career, Maart has toured and recorded with everyone from Fairport, Jethro Tull, The Mission, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Mike Harding, Robert Plant, Midge Ure and many more.

Virgin retains South West Coast line, for now

The Department for Transport is in negotiations with Virgin Rail Group for them to continue providing rail services on the West Coast Main Line for a temporary period. This follows the fiasco that saw the London-Manchester-Glasgow service awarded to FirstGroup before a judicial review sought by Virgin stopped the contracts being signed.

This Grammy nominated musician has had her multi-platinum selling songs recorded by everyone from Willie Nelson, to Wynonna Judd, Trisha Yearwood, Peter Frampton, Emmylou Harris and Mark Knopfler, among others. Appeal for witnesses in double fatal North Devon accident

Police are appealing for witnesses after two men in their 20s died in a fatal road traffic collision in north Devon.

Just after 8am on Friday 12 October, officers and emergency services were called to a single-vehicle collision on an unclassified road that leads from the A361 at South Molton to North Molton.

The Met Office says it has learnt valuable lessons and improved forecasting on the 25th anniversary of the Great Storm that wreaked havoc across Britain.

It left 18 people dead and caused morethan £1 billion of damage, sparking questions as to why there had been no warnings of what was to come.

Yet just hours before, BBC forecaster Michael Fish had said: "Earlier on today apparently a woman rang the BBC and said she had heard that there was a hurricane on the way.
