Exeter Deaf Academy student William Thomas has just returned from Sydney, Australia, after being selected to play for the Welsh team in the biggest Deaf Rugby 7’s tournament the world has seen.
This was the first major international Deaf rugby tournament for more than fifteen years, and included both men’s and women’s teams from Australia, England, Fiji, Ghana, Japan and Wales. Organisers of the inaugural South West Rugby 7s are offering one lucky team the chance to play at the tournament for free. Teams that enter the South West Rugby 7s before April 30th will be entered into a draw to have their entry fee refunded, which includes 10 passes to the European Grand Prix 7s taking place at Sandy Park on the same weekend.
