Mother of Order release album based on work by Exeter University

Warp and Weft is a progressive folk album of songs about the Lancashire Cotton Famine. It features poems from the time collected by University of Exeter, as well as original songs by the band.

Cath Rogan says “As soon as we heard about the poems we wanted to do something about the Cotton Famine, it’s a piece of working class history which doesn’t get taught in schools and is largely forgotten.”

@CottonFaminePoetry tweeted that they were "Very happy that @Motheroforder1 are working to let people hear these century-and-a-half-old words from Lancashire."

Guitarist and singer-songwriter Chantel McGregor will release her highly anticipated new album, Lose Control, on Friday 9th October 2015 on her independent boutique label Tis Rock Music, The new album is the follow up to her critically acclaimed 2011 debut solo album, Like No Other.

Mac DeMarco 'Salad Days' Album Review

An effortlessly lazy third album from tousled Canadian blue-waver DeMarco, Salad Days sees a daydreaming melange of lulling guitars glazed with Sunday morning vocals delivered through a hungover smile.

Opening track ‘Salad Days’ is an upbeat lament similarly as ‘Let Her Go’ carries a sunshine feel despite lyrical sadness.

Lo-Fi and nonchalant, the record is brushed with psychedelic tones with ‘Brother’ and stand out track ‘Chamber of Reflection’ exercising this with much of a continuation of the sounds heard on 2012’s ‘2’.
