Art Squad youngsters reach final of international Global Canvas competition

The Year 6 Art Squad at Broadclyst Community Primary School (BCPS) have just found out that their work has got through to the final of the Global Canvas 2019 art competition, and they will be taking their entry to the Natural History Museum in London for the judging on 7 March. Their Ocean Display entry was one of a record number to the international competition that involved over 5055 children from 26 countries across four continents.

Our Parent's First Aid course is for parents, grandparents, carers of children and babies, anyone that wants to learn a basic understanding of how to administer first aid to children and babies. Vintage Variety Day in Exeter

Vintage enthusiasts are set to flock to Exeter's Bike Shed Theatre for a packed day of activities and entertainment.

The Vintage Variety Day on Sunday, August 16, begins with a flashmob at 1pm in Princesshay, when singers, dancers and musicians, including members of the many Devon ukulele groups, will join cabaret star Tricity Vogue in a singalong of You Are My Sunshine. The gathering will then promenade through the Exeter streets to the Bike Shed Theatre, in time for the opening of the vintage fair at 2pm.

Devon man’s trek for Nepal disaster

From Monday 4th May, Paul Mattin will march 170 miles from his Devon home to the Nepali Embassy in London where he will deliver prayer flags and pay respect for the thousands of lives that have been lost.

Paul Mattin from Woodbury Salterton is a former Royal Marines Officer (Captain) who specialises in leadership and training. He has led numerous expeditions to Everest and is in close contact with friends from a Sherpa family living in the Everest Valley.
