Forty years ago saw the release of a record that would bridge the generation gap and become a rock anthem to both young and old – ’20th Century Boy’ was written and composed by Marc Bolan, who with his band T.Rex, was one of the most flamboyant and charismatic of the original glam rock era. With Bolan’s special ingredient of Rock-a-Boogie songs throughout the 1970s including ‘Telegram Sam’ and ‘Jeepster’ he was able to obtain what would be yet another Top 20 record later in 1976 that has since become one of the most memorable and everlasting signature tunes, ‘I Love to Boogie’.

This is the second chapter from WAVE, continuing their music with some new compositions. Expect groove and freedom from soft and lyrical to explosive sounds brought to live in jazz trio form by Roz Harding – alto sax, Mike Outram – guitar, Jim Bashford – drums.
Mal Evans was the Beatles roadie, but he was also their closest friend, he toured the world with them, took part on their recording sessions and films. He was there when they met Bob Dylan and Elvis. He was their protector when their lives were threatened in the Philippines and present when they studied with Maharishi in India. He even lived with Paul McCartney as his housekeeper in 1967 and there is good reason to believe he helped write the title song of ‘Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts’ Club Band!
To the boys he was an invaluable travelling companion and close confidante. On the...
