A NEW legal service has launched giving separating or divorcing parents wishing to make arrangements to see their children direct access to barristers to represent them in and outside of court.

The recently formed Children in the Middle is the only practice solely specialising in this line of work nationally in the UK.

Two Top Chambers Merge to Give Clients Greater Choice

Two of Exeter’s barristers’ chambers have announced today (4 June) that they are merging to create the largest chambers south of Bristol.

Rougemont and Southernhay Chambers will come formally together in July after nine months of strategic negotiations - creating a set of chambers that will rival its Bristol and London counterparts, in terms of size and expertise.

The enlarged chambers will boast 43 members and 15 associate members, as well as an eight-strong experienced clerking team. It will unveil its new name and branding next month.

Bristol Chambers fundraise for medical charity

St John’s Chambers, based in Victoria Street, Bristol, and the largest Set in the South West with over 80 barristers, hosted a ball in aid of their ‘Charity of the Year’ Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA) which is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

The evening raised funds of more than £6,000 for the independent charity, which promotes better patient safety and justice for people who have been affected by a medical accident. Barristers’ set tees-off for charity

St John’s Chambers organised a charity golf day and dinner sponsored by Haines Watts Chartered Accountants at The Bristol Golf Club in aid of Headway Bristol.

Over 52 golfers competed in the 18-hole 4-ball Stableford competition with Nestor as the winners and runner up Withy King LLP with trophies awarded to each team member. A total of £4,200 was raised for the local charity.
