CCTV appeal after sexual assault on train

Update: 23 September: Police investigating a sexual assault, which happened on a train between Taunton and Exeter on 15 July, have arrested a man in connection with the matter.

The 36-year-old from Bideford was arrested yesterday (23 September) on suspicion of sexual assault. He was later released on police bail pending further inquiries.

The man came forward following a media appeal to trace a person detectives wanted to speak to about the incident. Officers would like to thank all those who shared the appeal.

Just three in 10 Brits are happy with their lives, a new study has revealed. Money worries, dead-end relationships and unfulfilling jobs were among the reasons many said they are unhappy. An exhibitition by 307 Squadron Project will take place at Exeter Guildhall from 13-15 November, to coincide with the flag raising.

The Polish flag will be flying over Guildhall on 15 November, which since 2012, has become known as ‘307 Squadron Day’ in the city.

307 Polish Squadron, part of the RAF, were night-fighters who protected Exeter and South-West England during the Second World War.

The Polish fought the German Luftwaffe over the dark skies of Devon and prevented Exeter from being totally destroyed during the blitz on the city in 1942.

From 700 nominations, John Crawley, a volunteer at St Petrock’s, Exeter’s charity for people who are homeless, has been announced as one of five finalists for the Britain’s Best Volunteers Award.
