Builders merchant launches campaign to support local businesses

With the pandemic having had a detrimental effect on local businesses across the region, RGB Building Supplies’ latest ‘Support Local’ initiative is giving away £500 worth of independent shop and venue vouchers every week until the end of January.

Through its Well Built Community Fund, RGB Building Supplies has already donated £5,000 for groups, charities and schools to spend at its branches this year. It has one last giveaway for 2019 and is calling for nominations for the chance to win £1,000 to purchase building materials or tools.

RGB's Community Fund aims to help groups complete much-needed projects that they would not otherwise be able to.

Since 2014, RGB Building Supplies has donated £23,000 worth of building materials to clubs, charities, schools and groups through its Well Built Community Fund and it’s delighted to announce the fund is returning for another 12-months.

For the next giveaway, RGB will be donating £1,000 worth of building materials to a group that’s taking part in a carnival or festival. So, whether materials are needed to help build a float, decorate a stall, or build a Carnival Queen’s throne, RGB would like to hear about it.

Home furnishings retailer, IKEA, today officially celebrates the construction of its new Exeter store.

Exeter builders merchant helping libraries with materials giveaway

With libraries across the county being subjected to funding cuts, RGB Building Supplies is inviting them to apply for £1,000 worth of materials as part of its Well Built Community Fund.

Barratt supports sun awareness campaign

Housebuilder Barratt Homes has thrown its weight behind an awareness campaign to ensure its construction staff in Exeter stay safe in the sun.

Barratt managing director Paul Moran said that it was vital to ensure that its construction workers on sites in the area are aware of the dangers of the sun and take all possible precautions.

£1,000 fund open for community centres

Following the relaunch of RGB Building Supplies’ Well Built Community Fund in April, the builders merchant is now calling for community centres and village halls in the Exeter area to get in contact and tell them how £1,000 worth of building materials would be of help.

Centres and village halls are at the heart of local communities being used for anything from a parent and toddler group and Yoga class to a local meeting and wedding reception, so whatever a venue’s needs, RGB would like to hear about it.
