Barchester’s Cumberland Grange Care Home in Exeter got in the Christmas spirit this week by sending along Homes Services Advisor, Hugh Dickinson, to deliver some delicious cupcakes prepared by head chef, John Holman, for a charity Christmas light switch on in Ottery St Mary. All the staff and residents at Cumberland Grange care home love getting involved with the local community and supporting charity events. To celebrate its third birthday, Devon Loves Dogs is asking people to submit their best cake photos for the chance to win a doggy hamper.
All you have to do is bake a dog-friendly cake, take a photo and send a digital copy to Devon Loves Dogs by 9am on Tuesday 25th August. It could be a ‘pup’ cake, a paw-shaped cake or any kind of cake, as long as it is safe for dogs.

A dream has become a reality for a 21-year-old from Crediton who has launched her own business in the town.
Chloe Burston-Thomas caught the baking bug watching her granny rustling up tasty treats in the family’s farmhouse kitchen.
After leaving school, Chloe studied at Exeter College’s prestigious Michael Caines’s Academy where she honed her skills.
She then spent a couple of years working with her family at Sandford Orchards, followed by a spell at Crediton Coffee Company before deciding to go it alone.
